Induction Training for the Civil Judges (Junior Division) Trainees 2024-25 batch has commenced in the Kerala Judicial Academy from 04.03.2024    The in-service training for the four newly appointed District and Sessions Judges (General Selection-2023) has been commenced in the Kerala Judicial Academy from 06.02.2024.    Dr. Ann Thania Alex is the new Assistant Director of Kerala Judicial Academy     The newly furnished Board Room of the Academy was inaugurated on 17.06.2023.    Sri. Sujith K. N. , District and Sessions Judge is the new Director of the Kerala Judicial Academy    Sri. Krishnakumar K ., District and Sessions Judge is the new Addl. Director of the Kerala Judicial Academy.    Dr. John Varghese, Sub Judge is the new Deputy Director of Kerala Judicial Academy    Training calendar for the academic year 2023-24 is uploaded in the website.   

KERALA JUDICIAL ACADEMY

The Kerala Judicial Academy is established by the High Court of Kerala. It is one of the pioneer institutions in the country for judicial education and legal research. The Academy has set the platform for various programmes. They include the mandatory induction training for munsiff-magistrates, orientation programme for direct recruit district judges and in-service programmes for serving judicial officers. Continuing judicial education plays a vital role in helping the district judiciary to share their experiences, gain knowledge and update and sensitise themselves to the fast-changing social needs. Training is imparted in an organised and systematic manner to enhance the efficiency of the justice delivery system.

The Academy is under the control of a Board of Governors. The Hon’ble Chief Justice is the Patron-in-Chief. A senior judge of the High Court is nominated by the Hon’ble Chief Justice as its President. HISTORY

Formal and institutionalised training to the members of the district judiciary in the State of Kerala commenced in 1986 with the formation of the Directorate of Training. It could be materialised on account of the forethought and untiring efforts of Hon’ble Mr Justice V. S. Malimath, the then Chief Justice.
